Rules

  • Golf Canada rules apply. **LOCAL RULES DO NOT APPLY TO THIS EVENT**
  • Men play White Tees. Ladies’ play Gold Tees.
  • Players must play together when playing the match. Flip of tee to determine who plays first on opening hole.
  • The highest ranked player of the bracket will make first contact. If contact is made three times, with proof, and opponent doesn’t respond or agree to set a match date the match will be forfeited and the person making contact will advance to the next round. If a match date cannot be agreed to by both players within the deadline date a coin flip will determine the winner. Coin flip will be done by the Professional Staff.
  • The match will consist of an 18-hole match play format to determine a winner. If tied after 18 holes a Sudden death playoff will take place. The Pro shop staff will do their best to offer options 1-3, in that order.
  1. Starting hole of the match (regular HDCP apply), 18-hole rotation.
  2. Opposite 9-hole course (regular HDCP apply).
  3. One-hole putt off closest to the pins wins (HDCP does not apply)

For any rule conflict or differences of opinion, make note and consult with Professional Staff after your round for a ruling.

Handicap’s

  • Handicap Indexes will be confirmed via Golf Canada on June 3rd for each player, these will be used for the seeding process.
  • Please use your “day of” Handicap Factor and converted to the course handicap at 80%. Handicaps should be rounded up if .50 or higher and rounded down if .49 or lower.
  • Golfers play off the lower players HDCP (EX: if player “A’ is a 2 HDCP and player “B” is a 13 HDCP, Player “B” receives 11 strokes on HDCP holes #1 thru #11). This will occur after the 80% adjustments.

If you have any questions before your match a Golf Professional will be able to help.

Must hand in the score card to the Professional Staff for review or email scorecard to Wesley Butz, wesley.butz@fortmcmurraygolfclub.com within 24 hours. Scorecard must be signed by both competitors.
